Second Announcement
Posted on April 20th, 2009
"Nanoworkshop" was first organized in 2003 at University of Kiel. The 4th workshop will be held at Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics in Malá Strana Campus (Malostranské nám. 25, 118 00 Praha 1).
The meeting will be held in a historical (baroque) building of Computer Science that is a part of Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, Malostranské nám. 25, Praha 1 (just below Prague castle). The workshop will start on Wednesday, 2nd Sept., 2009 morning and finish on Friday, 4th Sept. 2009 afternoon. Interested participants might extend the stay over weekend and see Prague.
Number of hotels close to the meeting site will be offered. Student residence accommodation will be also available.
The programme will consist of about 10 invited lectures and approximately 30 oral presentations (15 min) and more contributions as posters.
The Nanoworkshop 2009 aims to bring together physicists, chemists, and engineers from academics and industry. The scope of the workshop ranges from advanced preparation techniques to resulting new properties and industrial applications. Theoretical work and computer simulations are also included. The nanocomposites may consist of polymer/metal in the shape of nanoclusters, nanotubes, nanofibers, and nanowires. Contributions discussing functional properties of polymer/carbon composites are also welcome. Sufficient time to get acquainted among each other will be allocated after the talks for discussion and in the poster session.
The Workshop covers following topics
- PVD and CVD based preparation techniques
- Preparation by wet chemical methods
- Novel preparation approaches
- Optical properties and applications
- Magnetic properties
- High-density data storage
- Magnetic devices for GHz
- Catalytic properties and reactive membranes
- Electronic properties and devices
- Biological and medical applications
- Self-assembled polymer/metal composites
